The Visual Cognition Laboratory is located at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The lab is headed by Prof. Daniel Simons from the Department of Psychology.
Research in our lab focuses on visual perception, attention, memory, and awareness. Special areas of interest include change blindness, inattentional blindness, scene perception, attention capture, implicit perception, driving and distraction, and spatial cognition.
Our lab studies visual cognition using behavioral approaches ranging from computer-based psychophysics and eye tracking to real-world observational studies.
